STORY TELLING

A tiny seed becomes a big vegetables, how could that be.....

Many children do not like to consume vegetables. They know other food better than vegetables. Commercial advertisement and social environment may be the main sources of information.

As a result, many children prefer other foods than vegetables

Story Telling will encourage children to understand and appreciate how seeds turn into vegetables. Delivery will be in a fun and attractive ways including transplanting practices. At the end, student will understand why consuming vegetables early is beneficial. This is a good education for children to love vegetables and environment.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Maximum of 20 children
  • Suitable for first grade of primary students, kindergarten and play group
  • Duration is about one hour including transplanting practice
  • Outcome of transplanting practice can be taken home
  • Location Urbanutrigarden Halaman Organik – Sarijadi  Bandung
  • Story Telling can be held at school location
  • For activity outside Bandung city, in order to optimize the event, it is suggested to also running urban farming courses for adult (to save travel & living cost)
Information & Registration

Since practicing needs vegetable seedlings, we should receive registration confirmation one month before event at the latest (upon down payment)

The content of Story Telling:

  • Introduction of vegetables crops at Urbanutrigarden at Story Telling location
  • Story Telling, telling the journey of seed to become crops and back to seed. Delivery with pictorial display and live crops on available basis. 
  • Transplanting vegetable seedlings to plastic cup. Children may bring it home.

We are using growing media, the mixed of burn husk, cocopeat and vermicompost. During practicing, the children will play around with growing media which may be dirty. No worry, this is physical dirty, not chemical dirty (contains chemical materials such as chemical fertilizers) or biological dirty (with pathogenic microbes). A good growing media contains good microbes (aerobic). As we know, microbes are everywhere, at solid materials, liquid materials as well as air.

If Sory Telling is held outside Bandung city, it is suggested to also running Urbanutrigarden courses. There are two type of urbanutrigarden courses:

  • Urbanutrigarden Superfood covers superfood production indoor such as active seeds, germinated seeds, sprouts and microgreens
  • Urbanutrigarden Outdoor covers growing crops to mature crops outdoor such as land, hard soil, roof top and at wall.
